Spooky Welcome Sign

spooky welcome sign

If you have been reading my blog for awhile now, you’ll know I’m not much of a holiday decorator.  I’ll put up a wreath or maybe change out the flowers on the entryway table to a different color scheme.   However, I’ve recently become a tad obsessed with front door welcome signs.  They’re easy to make, can be changed out easily, and are a really nice welcome to your visitors!

My #spookyspaces Spooky Welcome sign is a just a teensy bit scary, but mostly just CUTE Halloween!  {and it took about 10 minutes to craft it all together – my kind of craft!}

I bought all of my supplies for this #spookyspaces welcome sign at Jo-Anns.  I picked out some cute accessories, including some Martha Stewart accents, David Tutera tags, and fun scrapbooking materials!

Using a black oval frame, I took out the glass and inserted in a piece of scrapbook paper, cut to the size of the frame.

Lay out your tags and letters before hot-gluing anything down.  Add a piece of scrapbook paper or fabric on top of the glass to give your frame some patterns~!

You can add washi tape to the bottom of the tags {because everything is better with washi, right?!?!}

To get the string to hang in the frame, but not hang OVER the frame, hot glue both the left and right sides to the INSIDE of the frame.

Add the glass back into the BACK of the frame, leaving the scrapbook paper exposed at the front.

The setup is now complete, and the welcome sign is yours to start decorating!  I added the witch and a few darling spiders that I couldn’t put back at the store – and hot glued those little buggers to the string and layered them in the design!

Jo-Anns has everything you can imaging needing for a welcome sign.  They’re quite addicting – sort of like my addiction to scarves, except not as extensive!

Change this out monthly or each holiday and you’ll have a spectacular entry for all to see!
