You don’t need to be an artist to create simple watercolor artwork!
Growing up, my grandmother taught me to paint and would always tell me that painting was a skill I’d use all my life. She was right! I love being able to create custom artwork for my home!
This watercolor painting is SO quick and easy! Here’s what you’ll need:
-Smooth heavyweight watercolor paper- I used the coldpress 140lb paper from this paper pad
-Watercolors- I used these watercolors
-Paint brush
-Cup of water
-Contact Paper
-Paper punch
Start by punching your desired shapes out of Contact Paper.
Peel off the Contact Paper backing and stick the shapes to your paper. Make sure to press firmly, especially along the edges.
Paint over the entire sheet of paper. I used multiple shades of pink to give some variation. You could do one solid color or do multiple colors…splotches, stripes, whatever you’d like!
Let the paint dry to the touch, then slowly and carefully peel the Contact Paper off. Be sure to peel the Contact Paper off as soon as the paint dries. Don’t wait overnight as the Contact Paper might not come off as easily.
So simple, right?! I love how it looks in my little girl’s nursery!
